"That would be great." Kali said, smiling.
"Now Faye.Don't be using your disorder to try to get out of trouble," Michelle said firmly. "Let's go to the kitchen now."
Amara left to go find Diane. Mai had gone out of the closet, and told Amara that she and Diane had been in the broom closet. Amara loked into the broom closet Mai had pointed to.

Emily smiled. "I will name if Jeffery but Jeff for short in memory of father."
Carol walked over to where the infant slept. She picked up the precious cargo and walked over to her mother. "Here, Mom. Come and hold little Jeff."
Diane continued to silently cry, not realizing that Mai had gotten out. She was so foolish into thinking she could get away with fibbing to Grandpa Amara. The new scout of ice was now going to get into trouble and there was nothing she could do about it.
"I'm such an idiot."

Kali smiled, and held baby Jeff. "He looks like a darling little angel when he's asleep." Kali said, smiling. Kali looked at Emily and started giving her hints on being a good mother.
Michelle took Faye to the kitchen, where the cooks were loking for the candy. " Go tell the cooks what you did,Faye." the old sea scout said firmly.
Amara looked down at Diane. Diane? I'd like to know why you lied to me in the library." the wind elder said in a gentle yet firm tone of voice.

Diane stopped her tears at the sound of the voice. She knew that voice all too well. As it was the voice that always soothed when she was hurt and her mother and father were not around. But it was also the same voice that could cause a shiver up her back if crossed.
"I wasn't trying to," she said honestly as the tears started up. She didn't bother to lift her head. if anything her head fell against her bent knees causing her silver hair to cascade in a curtain around her. "I'm sorry. I didn't want you to be mad at me."

Amara stiffly sat down beside Diane. " Yes,I am mad at you Diane...but I'm also hurt. I'm hurt that you would lie to me like that. I'd just like to remind you that lying only leads to trouble. If you keep lying to people, pretty soon they won't believe you even when you tell the truth. "Amara said wisely.

Faye walked into the kitchen with the candy. The cooks looked at her with a stern look. She quickly apologized and promised to replace the junk food later. She knew she did wrong. She quickly walked away.
"Grandma Michelle, I have a confession. I wasn't the only one, but I was the one who took most of it."
"Of course he is a darling Mom," Emily said. "He's a Takimoto, though he can never be a scout, he's got the scout blood."
"I know," Diane said as her tears began to get louder. "I know the story of The Boy who cried Wolf ... sniff ... The boy ended up getting eaten by the wolf because he lied one too many times and no one believed him. I don't know what I was thinking. Mai had started me with that stupid rubber spider ... sniff ... I was in the library before you guys had showed up ... sniff ... I was trying to look up some information about newborn babies ... I've never seen a newborn before. I'm sorry ... I hurt you. You are the one woman I admire and respect most. You don't care what people think. You are a woman who prefers to be treated like a man and I admire that."

"Who else is involved in this,Faye?" Michelle asked, adjusting her glasses.
Jeff woke up crying, and Kali gave him a baby bottle, which he ate. After a few minutes, the baby was through, and Kali burped him. The baby burped, and Kali smiled at him.
Amara hugged Diane, and smiled kindly at her. "Thank you,Diane. If you like,I can take you back to the library and help you look up information on newborns.I know where the section is." the old wind scout said kindly.

Faye looked down and began poking her fingers together. "Ummm....Mai."
"Oh Grandma," Josh said. "You a natural at feeding. I suppose with 3 daughters..." Josh trailed off.
"I love you Grandpa Amara. I don't care if you are a homosexual are not," Diane cried against the former scout. After a few minutes of feeling her hair be softly brushed with fingers, she finally calmed down. "I would love to have help in looking for information on newborns." Diane didn't dare move just yet she was going to be completely honest. "Grandpa Amara?" she asked still cluthing the old woman's sport coat.

"Thank-you for letting me know, dear. You may go back to what you were doing." Michelle said, leaving.
"Kali nodded. "Raising children has its ups and downs," Kali said, handing the baby back to Emily. "Over the decades,I've bandaged up lots of scraped knees...tucked children into bed and kissed them goodnight..read lots of bedtime stories...dealt with disobediance and temper tantrums and broken curfews dozens of times...I've wiped runny noses, given medicine for illnesses and helped with lots of homework projects."Kali said.
Amara took the handkerchief from her coat pocket and dried Diane's tears with it. " I love you, too,Diane." Amara said, smiling kindly as she stuck the handkerchief back in the top pocket. " If you'd help me up,we can go on to the library."

"Grandpa Amara, What is that room I saw you you guys enter?"
Faye gave a slight bow in respect for the elder and quickly ran off. She was too scared to go back to the library.
The three daughters agreed with their mother about the ups and and downs of having a child around. It's hard work but it's worth it in the long run.

Amara sighed. "It is a room that young scouts are forbidden to enter," Amara said truthfully. "There are things in there that you young scouts cannot learn of till much later on."

Diane finally stood up. She fixed her hair back in place. She gave a hand down to Amara to help the old woman up. In Amara's age, Diane didn't trust her bones to always work. "Let's see what that library has for me to know about babies. Besides the fact they cry a lot."

"Does something trouble you?" Former King Darien asked as he came out. He had gone to take a walk in the gardens after hearing the news of their grandchildren being back in time, it had slightly disturbed his heart.

"I was just thinking about the family I could possibly have," Adeline said to the former king. "All these years,I've only known the old monk as a father figure, and I don't even know if my mother is still alive or not." Adeline gave a sigh.
