The Legend of Zelda:
The Dark Princess
Chapter 1: The Dark Lord vs. The Heroes of Time and Light
This peaceful world was thrown into chaos. Hell had surfaced to this once peaceful world, the Hero of Time had failed in keeping the peace, he had failed his princess. An amazing war broke out between good and evil.
Princess Zelda of Light, a beautiful princess with long dark blond hair with most in a braid, along with piercing blue eyes she had to be no more than 17. She was aided by her soldiers stood their ground against Ganondorf of the Gerudo's along side his army of darkness. Princess Zelda waved her hand and appeared a bow and a quiver of light arrows, she aimed straight at the heart of the king of darkness. Ganondorf laughed in humor, " My dear Princess, do you honestly believe that you stand a chance against me? Because if you do, you are dearly mistaken. For you see, (Ganondorf raises his left hand to show the triforce engraved in his hand, a piece of the triangle begins to glow), my dear, I hold the triforce of power you don't stand a chance against me." He begins to laugh maniacally. Zelda looked down and gripped the bow tighter, she placed the arrow back in the quiver. "I'm so sorry Ganondorf, that you're so lost in your power you don't even see the truth that lies in front of you." Zelda raised her left hand to show the triforce engraved in her hand, another piece of the triforce glows. "I am Princess Zelda, the Princess of Time and Light, guardian of the Triforce of Wisdom, you have no rule here. I'm an the next to ascend the throne, and I'll do anything to stop you from getting there." Zelda reaches her hand behind her to pull out her Queen's Sword, and points it towards Ganondorf. Ganondorf laughed, raised his hand and sent out a monster after her. She sliced it in two, Zelda chuckled, “Really Ganondorf? If you’re going to rule Hyrule and take me out in the process you’re going to have to do better than that.” Ganondorf smirked, raised his hand towards the great Death Mountain, the land began to shake, flames spurt out of the volcano, a giant dragon was released from the inferno of the volcano.
Volvagia burst in flames, and began its descent towards Zelda, the village below Death Mountain caught in flames, as Volvagia spread fire throughout the land. Zelda’s eye’s widened with fear, she placed her sword back in her sheath, waved her hand to produce her bow. She pulled an arrow out of her quiver, pumped magic through the arrow and shot her arrow. The arrow flew, stroke the dragon square between his eyes, causing the dragon to whip around fiercely nearly missing Zelda. The princess ducked as the dragon whipped around in the sky, Zelda pulled out another arrow putting her magic into the arrow. Just before she shot the arrow, Volvagia looked down and breathed fire all through the land. The nimble princess jumped and rolled out of the way, nearly missing the flames. Volvagia shot out fireballs, all nearly missing the princess, Zelda had no time to sit an aim so she came up with a new plan. She yelled out the name of an ancient goddess, “NAYRU’S LOVE!”. A blue light encased the princess as she raised her hands up to form a ball of light, she released her ball of light to form a crystal around her. The dragon continued its mighty rampage only to have its fireballs deflected off the crystal. Zelda took aim once again to the middle of Volvagia's eyes. She shot another arrow as he deflected it, she shot a few more only to have her magic arrows deflected. As she stood in awe, a triforce appeared under her feet and broke the crystal she had around her, Zelda screamed in fear. Ganondorf, from the sidelines, smirked in amusement. Volvagia was charging straight after her, she pulled out her sword, Volvagia barely missed her as Zelda was able to get a little swipe into the dragon. Volvagia hit the sword out of her hand with his tail and knocked her down. The sword flew out of reach, Zelda tried to conjure up some of her Triforce magic, but she couldn’t concentrate with this dragon whipping around shooting fireballs at her. She truly believed this was the end, Ganondorf laughed at this amusement. “If I had known it was this easy to take down the princess I would of done it a long time ago!!”
Just before the dragon had swooped down again to take out the princess, two arrows came flying from over the horizon, along with the sound of hoof beats. One stroke Ganondorf’s hand, and the other stroke Volvagia between the eyes, the dragon roared in pain. An arm was placed around the princess as she was hoisted up to be carried by the Hero of Time. She was on the horse of her loved one with his arms around her. “Link? Link! Link you made it! Just in time!” Link held her tightly as he made the rounds to pick up her sword. Link pulled the reins to his faithful horse, Epona, and jumped off. He took the waist of his princess and brought her down with him. Zelda sheathed her sword and explained that Ganondorf was planning to overthrow the land of Hyrule by taking her out as well. “He’s abusing his triforce ability, he has the triforce of power, I tried to stop him, but I’m not match for him.” Link turned around, placed his arms around her waist and hugged her tightly, “Princess, you need not worry any longer, I’m here now.” He smiled brightly and placed his hands on her face, she placed her hands on his. Link leaned in and gently kissed her on the lips, he held her tightly then pulled back. She stood there with love in her eyes as she looked at her gentle hero. Link smiled, then turned to face his enemy. Ganondorf carried on, “Oh...How sweet, the final kiss between the princess and the peasant. Or is that your good-luck kiss, well you’re going to need it. Volvagia take him out!” Link smiled with utmost certainty that Volvagia stood no chance. Link took out an arrow from his quiver and yelled out, “Light Arrow!” Link shot the arrow between the monster’s eyes, causing the dragon to fall due to the brightness of the arrow, Link ran up to him, with his Master Sword in full glory, and he chopped off the monster’s head. Volvagia’s rampage came to stop as the dragon turned to ashes. Link smiled and pointed his sword towards Ganondorf, “You’re next, no one is to ascend the throne except for the Princess, now give up now or face the consequences.” Link showed off his left hand, which began to glow the same glow as the princess and Ganondorf. “I’m the guardian of the Triforce of Courage, suits me well doesn’t it. You’re going down Ganondorf and there is nothing you can do to stop me.” Zelda was silently cheering on from the sidelines.
Ganondorf burst into flames, with the anger that a young boy was able to slay Volvagia with such ease. Ganondorf wielded a massive sword, and pointed towards Link. "You're mine, boy." Ganondorf said simply, he raised his hand and pushed his army towards Link in one massive group. Zelda ran towards the oncoming mass of enemies encircling Link, she made it through to the middle alongside with Link. Link gripped tightly to his sword, he went to step in front of Zelda, she placed a hand in front of him to stop him. Her hand began to burn with flames, she placed her hands up in the air and a ball of red light glowed above her. She told Link to stay close so he wouldn't we get burned. She held the ball of light with one hand as the ball turned to flames. "Din's Fire!" , Zelda yelled towards the heavens. She slammed her hand into the ground, the flames dispersed around her creating a giant ball of fire to take out the enemies around her. The flames burned heavily burning all around them as she poured more and more magic into the flames. The flames began to reach Ganondorf, he smirked lightly as he waved his hand and build a barrier around himself. Link stood ready to attack, and Zelda knew. She clenched her other hand tightly to create the blue ball of light from before. She threw the blue ball at Link and yelled, "Nayru's Love, Nayru is the goddess of Power she should protect you against the flames of the goddess Din of Courage. Go finish him off!” Zelda instructed to the young warrior. Link was concerned of the Princess’ wellbeing, but knew he shouldn’t worry. She is the princess of Hyrule after all. The shining blue crystal encased Link as he charged thru the flames bearing his sword towards the dark lord. Link put all his power into breaking the barrier. Ganondorf smiled, then realized that his barrier was no more as he too burst into flames. Ganondorf pushed the flames out of the way and began swinging his sword. The nimble, young Hylian dodged everything that was thrown at him, until the same figure of the triforce appeared under Link. “What do you say, you fight a greater evil? Your own fear?”, Ganondorf said with ease. Link stood there in question, “ My own fear? I believe to have conquered all of that! You don’t scare me!” Ganondorf smiled, he raised his hand to create another triforce that began to spin under Link’s feet, he began to become encased inside of a dark crystal. Zelda looked up from her position to see this feat, her eyes widened with fear, she picked herself up from the wreckage of fallen dark soldiers and began running towards Link. Link stood in fear of what was to become of him, he tried to move but found himself frozen in his position, Zelda reached for him but was thrown away by the power of the crystal. Zelda brought herself to her feet, and began reaching for him again, the dark crystal eventually shrouded his entire being.
Chapter 2: Seeking Help
Zelda reached to touch the crystal, when a dark hand bolted out of the crystal. The dark hand reached out and grabbed her by the throat, beginning to choke her. An entity walked out of the crystal, that of resembling Link but a much darker force. As the crystal depleted the Hero of Time found himself motionless and slumped over on the ground, watching this darkness lay his hand on the princess.
Zelda gasped for air, tears welling up in her eyes to see her fallen hero laying limp less on the ground. The triforce on her hand began to glow with intensity, she placed her hand on the arm of her enemy. His eyes glowed with a soulless expression, he smiled evilly. She clenched her fist tightly to create Din's Fire, she blasted him in the face, and he dropped her on the ground. She rolled to her knees and began to get up, then the dark force grabbed her by the arm and pulled her close. "You're not getting away from me, princess, you belong to me now." Tears welled up in her eyes, she started to bawl, she reached for her sword but the dark force knocked her hand away. "No one can save you now, your hero failed, he failed your whole land. What are you going to do now? Nothing, you're going to calmly come and cooperate and bow to the dark lord." He said whispering in her ear, Zelda's triforce burned her hand deeply, she yelled in pain as a bright light encased her being, the dark force released her and covered himself as if the light pained him. The dark lord shrouded himself as well, this gave Zelda enough time to get away, but she couldn't go after Link, that would put both their lives in danger. She didn't know how long this light could last, she ran to Epona's side and climbed in the saddle, tears ran down her face. “I love you Link, don’t worry I’m not going to be the helpless one this time I’ll come for you as soon as I can.” She spurred on Epona repeatedly to get away, as she felt to of cried endless tears. She waved her hand to create a dark cloak bearing the ancient Shiekah symbol on the back, she pulled up the hood, and was lead by Epona into the rest of Hyrule.
Epona led her to the opening to the Lon Lon Ranch, Zelda inquired, “ Lon Lon? Are you sure? They’re more than likely to find me here.” Epona trotted on, “I guess this is the place that makes you safe then, huh?” Zelda wiped away her tears. The beautiful horse pulled up to the gate and whinnied loudly, a young ranch hand girl came running up. “Epona!”, she said happily, it was young girl no more than 16 with long brown hair and beautiful blue eyes, “That Link! He left you alone again while he ran off didn’t he?” she opened the gate and found that Epona had a different rider. “W-Who are you? You’re not Link.” the young asked. Zelda slid off the saddle and stood next to the valiant horse. “I can’t tell you here, someone is looking for me. Can I talk to you in private. Don’t worry I am a friend. I know Link.”, Zelda said shakily. The young girl eyes widened, “LINK!! Where is he?!” Zelda continued, “Please, I don’t know how much time I have, please”. The young girl began to remove the reins to the horse when Zelda placed her hands on hers, “I need this horse please I need to talk to you.” The young girl noticed a faint triangle on Zelda’s hand. “Y-You. You are the....yes! Yes right away, please come with me. Here, here into the house.” Epona trotted off to the corral with the other horses, and the young ranch girl lead Zelda to the house. Zelda sat at the table, the young girl sat next to her, she said, “My name is Malon, my father Talon is in the barn with our other ranch hand Ingo, I assume that you’re Princess Zelda. If you’re here then that must mean that something horrible has happened to Link. Am I correct? That must be it.” Malon asked with patience. Zelda lowered her hood, “Yes, you are correct I am the Princess, I stood in front of Ganondorf and his dark army with full confidence that I would have no problem. I was deeply mistaken. I lost my hope, my powers weren’t strong enough, then it happened. Ganondorf pulled the darkness out of Link, and I was forced to leave him there. I don’t know what to do. I can’t return to the castle for now, that’s bound to be the first place they look for me.” Zelda’s eyes began to fill with tears and start to stream down her face. Malon placed her hands on hers, “Princess, I will do anything to help. Link’s childhood friend lives in the far off village of children. You must know the one, it the one where the children never grow up. Kokiri Village, that’s the one. Saria is her name, she’s also the Sage of the Forest, you can find her at the Sacred Meadow. She must know of some way or another to help you. Please go to her.” Zelda smiled brightly, “Thank you so much Malon, I don’t know what to say...”Zelda stopped in mid-sentence. “They’re coming, or they’re heading towards the castle. The towns people! Oh, no what have I done?! I left them by themselves! They have no way to defend themselves!!!” Malon grabbed Zelda’s hands and led her up to her room, “Leave through the window, I’m sure your people will be fine, you must go to the Kokiri Village. I’ll hold them off while you escape.” Malon said leading her to the window. Zelda stopped, “THE WINDOW?!?!?! But its also said that the children can’t leave or they’ll die, and no one can enter for they will have the same fate.” Malon opened the window, “You have an Ocarina, correct? That will be your only way to call Epona, you are the princess, you will have no trouble getting through, please hurry.”
Zelda climbed out the window, onto a tree branch, she pulled out her Ocarina and played Epona’s horse call. Epona came trotting up to the tree, Zelda bravely jumped off. She pulled her hood up, and spurred Epona. Epona ran towards a broken side of the fence and jumped over it. Malon ran down the stairs, out the door and to the gate. She closed the gates, and opened up the barn doors. Talon, a short chubby man with semi-balding head and thick mustache, along with Ingo, a tall skinny man with a thick mustache, stood in shock to see Malon. “Malon!! What do you think yer doin’? It ain’t dark out yet!” Talon asked in a thick country accent. “We must hurry, Ganondorf and his men are headed this way. The princess was just here seeking shelter here, but they’re after her! We don’t have much time! Please we need to get the horses to safety!”, Malon yelled desperately. Ingo, Malon and Talon ran out to the corral and began leading horses to the barn. The loud sound of hoofbeats, we heard nearing the small ranch. Ingo ran into the house in fear, Talon stayed with the horses to keep them calm, and Malon stayed out in the corral along with some chickens and one of the horses. The gate was broken down as an army of dark soldiers poured into the ranch. Malon came to the opening of the corral, as Ganondorf’s horse stood in front of her. “W-Welcome t-to Lon Lon Ranch. I’m Malon and I take it your the dark lord Ganondorf, c-correct?” Ganondorf smiled evilly, “I’m glad you have heard of me, would you know if the Princess came through here?” Malon said lying through her teeth, “The princess? No, she hasn’t. Personally I’ve never met the princess, I always wanted to, but I would think I would know if she came through here. As you see there would really be nowhere for her to go. Sir, we’re a small ranch, with horses, a few cows and chickens. We provide to the townspeople. You’re more than welcome to stay here for the night.” As she put a cheesy smile on her face, “I’ll just go inside and make you something to eat, um...umm...m-m-my father is inside the barn, he’s sure to help you with your fine horse.” Malon bowed, she started walking past him and noticed Link’s lifeless body on the back of his horse, along with the Master Sword on the side of Ganondorf’s saddle. Malon thought to herself, “I hope I bought Zelda enough time, I need to get that Master Sword to Zelda and fast.” Malon walked into the housed and slumped down to the floor. “Please, Princess, Please you must help us!”
