NA: For my special friend/sister, may she have a very Merry Christmas. Mel, this story’s for you. The mention of ‘the Freelancers’ are OC Scouts created by my friend Mel. They are her Sailors and are not to be used without permission. Also I have written this story in imagination of my friend’s mind in how she loves to perceive things for the future of the Sailor Scouts.
It was Christmas time again and though Japan wasn’t known to have Christmas, some people did celebrate it. The Christmas holiday celebration was beginning to catch on by others around, but it was a very slow process. It wasn’t celebrated like many other countries did, but it was celebrated to the point of a Christmas tree and presents and lights. With Japan not being a ‘merry’ holiday, the people who did celebrate it, didn’t do what other countries did, which was string lights in their windows, roofs and lawns. They strung lights in their homes along the walls.
One group of people who got into celebrating Christmas were the Sailor Scouts. They would often gather together to celebrate the Christian tradition. Of course it helped to have learnt this from their scout friend who once lived in England, Mina Aino. It became a special holiday for the Scouts. It was loved enough that every year for the past ten years one would host a party. Normally Amara and Michelle hosted it as they had the most room.
Amara and Michelle who were married to one another and had been for ten years and were living in a mansion the two bought from the money from the award winning money Amara won by entering track races and motorcycle races. The mansion was in fact a wedding present from Amara to Michelle, where both women invited their parents to live with them. The house was large enough to support the two families. Within a few years of marriage, Michelle began to speak about having children but with who she was, she was unable to have children with her partner since her partner happened to be female as well. So the two agreed Michelle would be artificially inseminated. Amara too agreed to have the procedure and she was the first to get pregnant.
Amara gave birth to a girl who she named her Pika, after her favorite Pokemon Yes the name was odd but Amara didn’t care. Many parents named their children in very odd names, worse than Amara named hers. Two years later Michelle was finally successful in getting pregnant and she gave birth also to a girl, naming her Mitzu. Though Pika was born from Amara, she was raised to call Amara ‘Daddy Amara’ just like Mitzu was and Michelle was referred to as the mother.
Just like every other year for the past ten years, it was now being December 24th, Christmas Eve to other Countries, Amara and Michelle had set up a Christmas party for the entire Sailor Moon gang, including their friends and family and even invited some other Sailor Scout friends who were in their golden years, ‘the Freelancers’.
The Freelancers were Scouts who were around from the 1950s but no one ever knew of them until one day during the Inner Scouts final year of high school, the Inners and Outers were fighting an enemy, which they were nearly defeated. But before the final blow could be made a sudden appearance of four new Scouts appeared. The four were obvious in their golden years, but that surely didn’t stop them fighting and saving the younger Scouts. The three teams exchanged names and thanked one another for a job well done. After that, it wasn’t long before the Outers became extremely good friends to the Freelancers.
As the holiday music played, everyone was dressed in formal wear, which was something that was becoming a habit, Amara and Michelle were sitting off to the side as Serena and Darien took the middle of the dance floor and began waltzing. Crystal Tokyo was beginning to be formed and Serena and Darien were soon to be crowned King and Queen. This was going to be the last Christmas where Serena would just be ‘Serena’. In six months she would be crowned ruler of the city.
The mansion Amara and Michelle purchased had a high ceiling in the main foyer, where was where the tree was sitting, which stood nearly as tall as the ceiling. It took the powers of the Sailor Scouts to decorate the tree in many different color lights and various styles and colors of ornaments and shapes. On the very top stood a beautiful white star. Ribbons and ropes of tinsel wrapped around the tree in loops, giving off the fuller look. Decorated all the around the room, along the walls and mantels were more ribbons and tinsel ropes of various colors. Lights also donned around the furniture, giving off the magical look. Among the lights were ropes of faux tree vines, which looked like branches from pine trees.
“They make a beautiful couple,” Michelle remarked.
Amara looked at her wife. “Just as we do,” she smiled. Amara, dressed in a black tuxedo turned to her wife. “May I have this dance my beautiful Princess?” She held out her hand for her wife to grasp.
Amara smiled back to her wife, taking her hand. “I would be happy to.”
Amara escorted Michelle to the dance floor, before twirling her around. Michelle’s hand gracefully fell into Amara’s waiting hand as Amara’s other arm, wrapped around Michelle’s tender waist. Michelle’s arm, wrapped around Amara’s waist and soon the two were stepping in time to the rhythm of the music.
Over in the corner, their daughters, five-year-old Mitzu and seven year old Pika were watching their parents dance away. Mitzu couldn’t get over how beautiful her Mommy looked in her elegant strapless ocean blue velvet gown with white trimming on the bottom of the full skirt and trimming around the top part as well.
“Mommy’s so beautiful,” the girl smiled.
“I know,” Pika said with a sigh. “Mommy’s always beautiful in her gowns. Daddy Amara is gorgeous looking too.”
“What are you two doing?” asked Trista as she stepped up to them.
“Watching Mommy and Daddy Amara dance,” answered Pika.
“Aren’t they beautiful?” asked Mitzu.
The Scout of Time, dressed in a slim dark green satin gown with cap sleeves, looked over to the female couple. “That they do. You know when Serena and Darien become Queen and King, your parents will become a Lord and a Lady?”
“Wow…” Mitzu beamed. “What will that make us?”
“A Ladies as well.”
“Auntie Trista, will I one day be a scout?” Mitsu’s eyes beamed in wonder.
Trista smiled. “Yes, sweetie, you will. Once you’re old enough, you’ll become a ‘Scout in training’ and be trained by us who we have been advanced trained by the Freelancers.”
Mitzu grinned. “I can’t wait.”
Trista was amazed in how well the younger child could speak. Not often could five year olds speak like that. But then again, having Michelle as her mother, it shouldn’t be surprising. The woman was quite elegant in nearly everything she did and she was constantly teaching both her children how to act proper. Trista wondered if it was because they would soon become legal Princesses or was just something Michelle wanted to do on her own.
As the lovely female couple continued to dance, they quietly talked amongst themselves. But soon the music came to an end; it was now time for the special announcement. The couple stopped their dancing to look at their guests for a moment. Amara then took Michelle’s hand and led her wife over to stand in front of the Christmas tree, which had many presents underneath ranging in different sizes. It didn’t take the room long to glance in their direction. Once there, they got everyone’s attention to look at them.
“Thank you my friends for coming,” Michelle said. “As you all know, this will be the last year we will have a Christmas party in this house. In six months Crystal Tokyo will be fully formed and we’ll have a Queen ruling the kingdom. In that time, we’ll be moving into the palace to take up our protection of our Queen.”
“It’s been a pleasure having Christmas parties here, but quite frankly I am looking forward to having a party in the palace,” Amara added with a smile.
“Since this is our last Christmas here, I would like to propose a toast,” Michelle said as a servant came over to the couple, offering them a glass of champagne. “If not for Mina, these parties would never have happened so we’re dedicating this evening to an old time favorite holiday of hers. To Mina!”
“To Mina!” everyone chimed as they lifted their glasses and then took a sip. Mina beamed with joy as the two female couple dedicated the last party to her.
“Also to add to her tradition, we have taken the time to get gifts for everyone,” Amara said. “So now I would like for all of you to gather more closely as I hand out gifts to everyone. There is each a present for everyone and I’ll call out your name for you to take the gift.”
Amara’s favorite armchair was then brought out from another room and placed to the side of the tree. Amara took her place and sat down in the chair. She turned to her youngest daughter. “Honey, dear. Would you like to help me?”
Mitzu grinned. “Yes! I would love to!”
She rushed over to her ‘daddy’.
“Pika, after I call out each person, why don’t you hand them the gift so I can read out another,” Amara offered.
Her daughter smiled. “Thank you Daddy Amara. I would like that.” Even the seven year old was taught how to speak properly.
Amara looked at Mitzu as Pika took to her other side. “Ok. Mitzu, now, I would like you to sit at the tree and hand me each gift and I’ll then hand them to the Pika who will give them to the guests.
“Remember sweetie to act like a lady,” Michelle reminded her daughter.
Mitzu nodded and carefully sat on the floor, curling her dress underneath her so she was sitting like a lady. Though she was able to speak in a proper manner, taught by her mother, she really didn’t know how to read quite just yet, so she didn’t bother to look at the names on the tag. Only picked up a parcel and handed it to the woman who was raising her like a father.
Amara smiled to her daughter as she then began to call out on whose gifts was whose. Soon each person had a present, including Mitzu and Pika. Seeing everyone now had one, Mitzu looked at her mother.
“Can I open my present, Mommy?”
Michelle smiled. “Everyone may open their gifts now.”
As the sound of paper was being ripped, some not so gracious as others, the gifts began to be revealed. The first one finished unwrapping her present happened to be Mitzu who was the least gracious one to unwrap her parcel.
“Oh Mommy! Daddy Amara! It’s beautiful!” There before her twinkling eyes was a beautiful porcelain doll in a beautiful wedding gown.
“I hope you like it sweetie,” Michelle said. “I know you’ve been eyeing mine lately.”
Mitzu looked at her mother. “I love it Mommy. My very first doll and she looks like you Mommy.”
Amara chuckled at the child. “Dear, I happen to agree with her on that. She does look like you.”
Amara looked over to her daughter as she was the second one to get her gift opened. “Oh wow!” she exclaimed. “A large Lego castle, complete with a basin to put water in for a moat! Awesome!” She then looked up to her ‘mother’. “Thank you Daddy Amara. I love it!”
Amara grinned. “You’re welcome.”
Like her biological mother, Pika picked up the trait of building things. She loved to build things. Amara had gotten into the art of building some time after graduating from high school and it became such a big hobby for her, she ended up selling some of her work and from that, she now had a small company started. Amara was into building robots and getting them to work efficiently like a human being.
Amara then went back to unwrapping her gift and was amazed in what Michelle got for her. She grinned as she looked up to see her wife was finished unwrapping her gift. The servants of the mansion were now going around and picking up all the destroyed paper and putting them in a bag for recycling. Standing, Amara went over to her wife. She pulled her wife close to her body, giving her a loving kiss. “Thank you for the sweet gift.”
Michelle smiled to her wife. “You’re welcome. I knew you would love an entire year’s subscription of motorcycles. And thank you for my lovely gift as well. You always know what I enjoy best.”
Amara grinned. “Anything for my lovely wife when it comes to Symphony concerts.”
Once the wrapping paper was cleaned up and everyone thanked Amara and Michelle for their gifts, the music began to play again, indicating to the guests they could continue back to what they were doing before the gift presentation, which was the special announcement.
Amara soon took her wife to the dance once again to dance. The two danced until it was time to put their daughters to bed. When each daughter was safe in her own room, the two parents left to rejoin their guests until the guests were ready to leave.
